2.2 LIBRARY GOALS

a. - To assemble, preserve and administer, in organized collections, books and related educational, informational and recreation material.

b. - To identify community needs and provide materials which reflect the varied interests and backgrounds of the community and other agencies.

c. - To serve the community as a resource centre of reliable information.

d. - To provide the opportunity and encouragement for children, young people, men and women to educate themselves continuously.

e. - To provide opportunity for recreation through the use of literature, music, film and other art forms.

f. - To make the greatest possible use of proven innovations, technological developments and changes in public library service.
