5.3 Salary Administration

The Board wishes to maintain as much as possible within budget restrictions, a compensation system that reflects internal and external equity within and among libraries.

a. - Salaries shall be paid on a semi-monthly basis and shall be reviewed as part of the budget process.

b. - Each employee shall keep documentation of hours worked (regular, over-time and time-off) on a semi-monthly time sheet signed by the Chief Librarian. Time sheets shall be filed on the library premises.

c. - Each employee shall be presented with a statement of monthly earnings and deductions.

d. - Overtime is to be avoided, but if necessary, time-off in lieu will be mutually agreed upon, and is within the discretion of the Chief Librarian.
