5.6 Staff Development
Although the employee has primary responsibility for his or her own growth and development, the employer will encourage this process by granting upon the discretion of the Chief Librarian, leave with pay to employees wishing to attend suitable workshops, courses, meetings, etc., which are relevant to the library and which provide for the professional advancement of the employee. In addition, where possible the Board will assume costs of these workshops, courses, etc.
