CRESTON PUBLIC LIBRARY ASSOCIATION SUPPLEMENTAL UNEMPLOYMENT BENEFITS
a. - Library Managers are to be covered under this plan.
b. - The plan is to supplement the unemployment insurance benefits received by Library Managers for temporary unemployment cause by maternity and parental leave.
c. - Employees must prove that they have applied for and are in receipt of unemployment insurance benefits in order to receive payment under the plan.
d. - SUB is payable for a period during which an employee is not in receipt of UI if the only reason for non-receipt is that the claimant is serving the two week UI waiting period.
e. - The benefit level paid under this plan is set at 95% of the employee's regular weekly earning.
f. - In any week, the total amount of SUB payments and the weekly rate of UI benefits will not exceed 95% of the employee's weekly earnings.
g. - This SUB benefit will be paid for 20 weeks.
h. - The plan is financed by the employer's general revenues.
i. - The duration of the plan is from January 1, 1997 to December 31, 2002.
j. - The employer will inform the HRDC in writing of any changes to the plan within thirty (30) days of the effective date of the change.
k. - Employees do not have the right to SUB payments except for supplementation of UI benefits for the employment period as specified in the plan.
l. - Payments in respect of guaranteed annual remuneration or in respect of deferred remuneration or severance pay benefits will not be reduced or increased by payments received under the plan.
