Readers are Leaders

The Creston Public Library is presenting the Readers are Leaders program. The program is designed to help children at the elementary level (ages 5-12) to improve their reading, comprehension and simple math skills. The goal of this program is to match approximately 10-20 students with appropriate volunteers, to read together at the library for about one hour a week. As well as an hour or so of reading each week, your child will have the opportunity to meet with the Children's Literacy Coordinator and work on simple math skills or words that are causing trouble.

The program begins in July and runs through to the middle of August. Besides the weekly individual activities, the children will have several chances to meet together as a group and enjoy some fun activities such as a scavenger hunt, and other crafts.

Starting this year, the library has extended the Readers Are Leaders program to continue through the school year. If your child is struggling with reading or math, feel free to come in and ask about this program.
